We need you to purchase the correct ticket package.  All ticket packages will be the same throughout.  What you need to do is make sure that you purchase your tickets under the appropriate heading, which will be:  STAFF (former or current), STUDENT (former or current) or GUEST.  It is imperative that you choose one of these headings before purchasing your ticket package as your commemorative name tag will be produced from the information YOU input when you buy your tickets.

NOTE: Handicap parking is available on site.  Please notify us if you require a spot. Contact brendakendall@sympatico.ca so that we ensure a parking spot is available.

THERE WILL BE NO PARKING ON SITE.  Steet parking will be available in the surrounding community.  Please be considerate and don't block laneways. We have notified the community that there will be extra vehicles in the neighbourhood for this event, we don't want to step on anyone's toes.  Street parking is also available in Queensway Terrace North, which is on the other side of the transitway. Again, be considerate of those living there. You can then walk across the bridge over the transitway. The #85 OC Transpo bus runs down Carling Avenue and stops at the intersection of Edgeworth and Carling.  Parking is available at the Park and Ride at the Woodroffe transit station (near Baseline). You can take the bus to Lincoln Heights transit station and walk from there.  

PLEASE CHOOSE THE APPROPRIATE HEADING BEFORE YOU PURCHASE YOUR TICKET(S) USING YOUR GRADUATING NAME and PLEASE TYPE CAREFULLY.

Below are the ticket packages available and their costs.

  1. General Admission Friday night and Saturday day events. This will allow you to attend the assembly and decade rooms on Friday night as well as attend the Saturday day events including decade rooms, alumni band rehersal, sporting events, non-stop coffee house and bistro.  Please see below for further details.  Cost $20.00
  2. General Admission to Friday night and Saturday day events plus admission to Blast from the Past/Pub night starting Friday at 7 pm.  Please see below for further details.  Cost $50.00
  3. General Admission to Friday night and Saturday day events and admission to the Saturday night dinner/dance. Please see below for details. Cost $90.00
  4. General Admission to Friday night and Saturday day events, admission to Blast from the Past/Pub night Friday night plus Saturday night dinner/dance starting at 6:30 pm.  Please see below for details.  Cost $120.00
  5. Staff Gathering.  This is a closed event for current and former Woodroffe staff only.  All past and present staff are invited to attend a complimentary celebratory gathering in the school Library on Friday night at 7 pm.  Refreshments will be served. In addition to this complimentary event, a General Admission ticket will need to be purchased at a cost of $20 per person. 

Video Dance Party
Thursday May 27, 2010, 12:30 - 3:00 pm
Location:  Woodroffe High School
   
This is a closed event for current Woodroffe High School students only.  

Video Dance will be blasting out the music with a live VJ and  projecting videos on to 10 ft screens.  All the latest and greatest tunes.  There will be special lighting and effects. Bring your dancing shoes and get ready to burn up the floor.

There is also a movie option for those students who would prefer to participate in that instead. Movie TBA...

Decade and Tech Rooms

Classrooms will be set up with memorabilia from the decades between the 60's and 2000's. 

A sports memorabilia room, hosted by Brian Schmidt and the leadership students as well as retired PE staffers, Ted Terry, John Soden and Skip Riddell, will be open especially for all you coaches and former jocks and jockettes! The WAA will be doing the work of setting up memorabilia from each sport from 1960 until now.

There will also be tech/shop rooms open with displays and some creations for sale... Some projects, tools and equipment are still there since yesteryear and you can also check out the contemporary projects students are working on today.

Come and reminisce about teachers, classes, sports, music, fashion and current events of when you were at Woody!

We are looking for memorabilia to include in our decade/subject rooms.  Please send/drop off any items you would like to contribute to the WHS office, c/o Susan (Usherwood) MacIntyre, WHS reunion.

There is now a collection bin set up in the office at the school. Any items dropped off/sent should be clearly marked with your name and contact information so that the item(s) can be returned after the reunion is over. Historical information is also helpful. You should provide the year and short description of the item/event (if it is not self-explanatory).

We need many volunteers to make these planned events a success. Anyone wishing to help out in the decade rooms or with memorabilia, please contact:

Staff Gathering

5 pm - 7 pm, Woodroffe School Library

Closed event for current and former staff only. Library will open to staff and students from 7 pm to 10 pm to reconnect and chat with your former teachers and staff.

This event is being hosted by Renald Cousineau, Principal of Woodroffe High School, 2009-2010 and the Woodroffe School Council. All past and present staff are invited to attend a complimentary celebratory gathering in the school library. Refreshments will be served.

In addition to this complimentary event, a general admission ticket will need to be purchased at a cost of $20 per person. This will allow you to attend the other open house events which are taking place on Friday night and Saturday during the day.

Blast From The Past/Pub Night 
Friday May 28, 2010, 7 pm - 1 am
Location:  Woodroffe High School, event tent.
Must be 19 years and older, proof of ID required

The return of the school dance!  Oh my gosh.... are we ready?!  This night will be filled with music, old friends and good times.
 
Lets dance the night away with our DJ from SHOWTIME playing great tunes from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s.

There will be a cash bar service including beer, wine and coolers and pop. Food, coffee and tea will be served, catered by AJs Catering.  Food and coffee and tea are included in the price of your ticket.  AJs Catering is a local company renowned for their use of fresh, local ingredients, large quantities of quality food and fresh home baking.  For your enjoyment we will be serving assorted sandwiches, stuffed buns wtih roast beef, Black Forest ham and an assortment of rich fillings.  There will be vegetable and cheese trays, French loaf with dip, nacho trays and homemade squares and cookies.  Coffee and tea will be served throughout the evening.  In addition there will be chips and salsa and large bowls of salty cashews for you nutty types on the tables throughout the evening.

Kid’s Zone
Saturday May 29, 2010. Start time 10:00 am. No Charge for children.
Location: Woodroffe High School. Grassy area beside the parking lot/ cafeteria. 

We welcome you to bring your children/grandchildren to the reunion for the Saturday day events and we will provide fun activities just for them. Face Painting, games, prizes, clown/magician and much more!

We will kick off the Kids Zone activities at 10 am, with L'il John our favourite fun loving clown and entertainer. He will make us laugh and twist balloons into animals and dazzle us with his magic! For $2, you can buy some popcorn or the sweet treat of candy floss. Bring your toonies...

BBQ
Saturday May 29- starting at 11:00 am

After an energetic basketball game, visiting all those memorabilia rooms, up and down the stairs and back and forth along the halls, and visiting with fellow students/teachers. You definitely will have worked up a mean hunger and an unquenchable thirst!

There will be an outdoor cash BBQ to satisfy your rumbling tummy and parched throat. Available for cash purchase are: expertly grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, sausages and ice cold drinks. 

The BBQ will be run by Woody's own Senior Girls Soccer Team along with the Senior Boys Soccer Team, last  years AA Champions. Talk about teamwork!
All proceeds from the BBQ will go to these two soccer teams.

Alumni Band Rehearsal
Saturday May 29, 2010

1:00 to 3:00 p.m

Come and have fun rehearsing with retired music teachers, Peter Manley and Jim Milne as well as present music teachers, Ruth Merkel and Terry Duncan.  It will be like the good ol’ days except you don’t have to be there for 7:45 in the morning!

Even if you haven’t played for a while, please come and join us.  We would encourage you to try to borrow an instrument, but we will try to provide instruments for those that can’t.  Wear your old Woody sweater, band jacket or Woodroffe colours.

We are pleased to have alumni Lisa-Gay Tremblay to entertain us on Saturday evening with her comedy and wit! She has an impressive portfolio including performances on TV, Concert Appearances, Comedy Clubs and Live Theatre.

Lisa now lives in LA with her husband and daughter, and has appeared on FOX,ABC, Lifetime, A&E, Showtime, CBC, and City TV on such shows as: Married with Children, Boy Meets World, Girls Night Out,Comic Strip Live, Evening at the Improv, Comedy on the Road, Comedy Club Network, Canada Day and Breakfast TV (Live Host), Comics, Just for Laughs Comedy Festival, Peoples Comedy Festival and Stand -Up Spotlight.

Lisa-Gay Has also been the opening concert act for Dana Carvey, Jim Carrey, Rodney Dangerfiled, Rich Hall, Rich Jenni, K.D. Lang, Jerry Seinfeld, Mel Torme, Dionne Warwick and Dennis Wolfberg.

We look forward to seeing Lisa-Gay and laughing along with her on Saturday evening. Laughter is always the best medicine...

Saturday Dinner/Dance

Time: Cocktails 6:30 pm, dinner 7:30 pm

We have confirmed our entertainment for the evening, The Mick Armitage Band. This great local band is made up of five very talented musicians who have been together for over 20 years. Their mix of Top 40, Classics and R&B will ensure that we will be dancing the night away.  Check out their website

In between sets, our DJ from SHOWTIME will keep the party going until the band strums their way into their next set.

Another great event catered by AJs Catering, a locally owned and renowned caterer.  Dinner includes carved hip of AAA beef, grain-fed chicken tarragon with white wine sauce, oven roasted potatoes, wild rice, vegetables, assorted salads, appropriate condiments, rolls, tea and coffee. Dessert will be a tableau de gateau including cheesecakes, chocolate and vanilla mousse, creme brule, carrot cake and chocolate truffle cake.  All food provided by AJs Catering uses locally sourced ingredients and fresh home-baked desserts. Vegetarian options include various salads and penne regatta wtih tomato basil sauce served wtih parmigiano reggiano cheese. Cocktails will start at 6:30, dinner at 7:30, followed by our comedianne, Lisa-Gay Tremblay and then dancing shortly after 9. This is our wrap-up event, definitely not to be missed. There is limited capacity for this event so purchase your ticket soon to avoid disappointment.
